Chat Quikr!!

Image
During my dating times, communication used to be pretty expensive. I mean during my medical college days i.e in the early half of 21st century. Cell phones had just entered the market and the service providers were exploiting us! Not only outgoing was expensive but incoming too made a hole in our pockets! So long chats on the phone meant draining of money of both the parties! Girls, who think of looting their other halves; are you listening? Thank God technology advanced exponentially and our woes were solved. Not only incoming became free but also the call rates were slashed. Gradually internet became accessible on cell phones and our lives became easier. Then with the IOS and Android boom, apps became the talk of the town. Every website started creating their apps which meant easier web navigation on our cell phones. And then started the crazy revolution! Our lives have become so easy that everything can be done on a phone! Remember the age old newspaper classified ads? Well they ...

I am sexy and I know it! Well life has not been that 'rosy' for me. I mean I have always been decent looking (I am not patting myself unnecessarily) but not without my share of beauty woes. I never wanted to look like Brad Pitt (as if I could...duh) but I could have been endowed with trouble free skin!!  My skin was oily since childhood. Even during winters, my mother never had to slather my face with cold cream. As I reached my teens and entered puberty, my skin began showing its true colours. As my voice broke, so did my skin too. I had a feud with pimples all through my teens and they made sure that they left souvenirs behind. Yes, I am talking about pimple scars. What exactly are pimples or acne? Its a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. More than often, bacteria are found residing in the pimples. I could define it as I am a doctor...not a dermatologist though ;) Now that I am finally pimple free; thanks to a to...

Stupid Cupid

Its that time of the year again. The month of January is on its conclusion and February is waiting at our doorstep. Yes...its February i.e the month of love. The most awaited time of the year. For those who are unaware, I mean the elderly ones, Valentine's Day is here! This love month is not only about this single day but an entire fortnight of celebration. When I was single this 'festival' did not mean much. But this year I have been waiting for this day since I started seeing someone special. I met this wonderful girl at my hospital and it has been love at first sight ever since. But I have not proposed her officially yet. I have always been a coy person and this shyness has been a hindrance in the way of professing of my love for her. When I came to know about the  CLOSE UP CUPID GAMES , it instilled an immense desire in me to declare my love! I have been using  Close up toothpaste  since can't even remember when. I mean since my early teens. I had always loved th...

Come Alive in Melbourne

I am a 33 year old doctor, an orthopedic surgeon to be precise. My hectic job profile does not mean that I am not entitled to have fun. I am a very lively person at heart and I live each day as if there is no tomorrow. Maybe that's why I fell in love with Melbourne, the world's most livable city right from my childhood. I have been watching cricket since the age of 10 years. By watching I mean following and worshiping. My enthusiasm for cricket made me take up this sport professionally along with studies. I was in the under 19 cricket team of Uttar Pradesh during my MBBS years!! Well, love for cricket undoubtedly takes people to Melbourne, Australia and that's how I fell in love with this city for the first time at the age of ten years!! When Indiblogger came up with this contest along with  Tourism Victoria , my joy knew no bounds! Here's why I love this city and hence it would be a dream come true to visit Melbourne! Melbourne is the capital of V...

The power of truth

I was always naughty as a kid. Not that I am not now; ask my wife and she would have myriads of anecdotes to affirm this. My mother always covered for my mischiefs as any typical mother would. However there was one incident which even shook her. Being naughty did not mean that I was not sincere at school. It was not much of an option really. My elder sister who was very meritorious and  in the same school ensured that I never did something that would mar her reputation. She was three years senior to me and I finally got to spread my wings in tenth class when she left for medical college. My school, St John's was a premier school in Varanasi. I used to stay in Ramnagar which was just across the ganges. Its a much smaller district than Varanasi. My childhood was pretty tough. I used to walk to the ghat in Ramnagar. From there a ferry used to take me across the river Ganges to Varanasi. Again from there I had to walk to my school. As I grew up I became more serious a...

The blooming of a flower

After years of holy matrimony, a stork finally visits the couple. They have been trying to conceive for 10 long years. Call it medical breakthrough or God's blessing, the wife finally got pregnant. After nine months of nurture they were blessed with a little angel. We as kids , realize very less how precious we are to our parents. Materially we do. When it comes to bullying them to get a tab or a playstation, we can easily go on a hunger strike because we know that our parents cannot bear to see us hungry. If our parents can sacrifice so much for us then why can't we fulfil their meagre expectations? With dating taking a new turn in new age India, pre marital sex is no longer a taboo. But according to me its a complete No No! Call me conservative or outdated, I would always condemn pre marital sex. Some say that only smart dudes and sassy girls are capable of having glamorous relationships and hence pre marital sex. And if you want a virgin partner, you either have to mar...

Teddy Travelogues

Image
I love traveling. This may come as a cliche but I AM AN ardent traveler. And I had started travelling since the age of 2 and a half years. Recently I came across Teddy Travelogues and went down the memory lane. I have documented my travel diaries since I was a kid and this is such a brilliant idea of Club Mahindra! My daughter is nine months old. I love traveling with my wife but now that we have a family, we plan to conquer the world together! My daughter had her first stint with traveling a couple of months ago when we went for a short break in Purvanchal during the Diwali holidays. Our base was at Varanasi and from there we traveled to Rajdari Devdari falls, Vindhyachal and nearby places. This was our first trip together and I enjoyed every bit of it! Our first concern was the 16 hour long train journey from Delhi to Varanasi. My daughter being very naughty and restless made our 16 hours seem like a week. Later as we deboarded the train our lives became easier as we traveled a...
