I had heard a lot about Theos bakery so this Sunday I finally decided to try it out with my family. What I learnt was that apart from being a class patisserie, it serves excellent Italian. We had an awesome afternoon. To start with, I had caprese salad. It was one of the best I have had in a long time. The broccoli and peppers were fresh and crunchy and the seasoning was flavourful. For shakes I tried the blueberry frappe. It was not too sweet and extremely delicious and filling. The quantity is quite a lot. Then I had spaghetti Aglio olio. It was perfection. The flavours were simply irresistible. For dessert I had blueberry cheesecake. The cheesecake melted in my mouth and the blueberry topping was absolutely delicious. I also had baklava. I have had baklava from Turkey, Iraq and Greece and I can happily declare that the baklava of Theos was as good as the Middle Eastern one! When you don't feel like cooking, takeout is the best option. I am a hardcore fan of Punjabi food and hence I decided to order from Amritsari kitchen. This place is quite near to my place and I received my order within half an hour. Here is what I ordered: Paneer Kulcha: Punjabi food is incomplete without kulcha and that explains my order. The size of the kulcha was nice and it was generously stuffed with paneer, herbs and spices. It was not too oily (which is great) and was delicious. It was served with chhole which was nice and a great chutney. The chutney was sour and very flavourful. Lassi: I also ordered lassi to go with the kulchha and it was nothing less than wonderful. It was sweet and creamy and refreshing. Although people who do not have a sweet tooth may not like it. The cost was around 175 for all the above. Casual cafes are always my favourite. And when they happen to serve cuisines like Italian, continental and chineses, they become my 'The Fav'! Pahmos Cafe is very near to where I stay and that's why I planned to meet with friends on a Sunday. We ordered a lot many things and fell in love with all of them! I started the afternoon with a virgin mojito which was very refreshing. Then for starters I had garlic bread with cheese followed by bruschetta. Garlic bread was flavourful. The Bruschetta was quite unexpected. It was sweet with grilled pineapple on it and caramelised onions. I loved it! Then had chicken morsel which were basically chicken skewers and they were served with pesto. The pesto was mind blowing! Also had chicken wings which was juicy.
