#CatchUpOnGrowth Indiblogger Meet

Image
When people look at me, they can't even remotely decipher that my father is over six feet tall. Yes I am an example of a short stature son of a tall father. And I blame that to my faulty nutrition. I was such a picky eater that I did not get the required nutrition. Now that I am Dad and my daughter is grossly underweight and a picky eater too, I am scared as hell about her growth and nutrition. Undernutrition does not necessarily happen in the downtrodden alone. The affluent class is equally prone to malnutrition. As my two year old daughter is highly underweight, I am worried as hell. I don't want history repeating. Catching up with my Blogger friends... Its been really long that we had an Indiblogger meet in Delhi. Everyday I would open up the site with great hopes only to see meets elsewhere. Sometimes in Bangalore, Mumbai or Kolkata even but not Delhi. One fine day I saw something vey promising in my inbox. It was a Horlicks Indiblogger Meet in Delhi and...

Share The Load

Image
As if Arvind Kejriwal had not caused enough inconvenience. Ariel Matic has come up with another odd even activity. I am supposed to share the load of doing laundry with my wife! Odd days male and even days female! Drats! Those who know me well know how lazy I am. In fact when it comes to household chores, I am the laziest. People who know me only through my or my wife's blog might think that I am the best husband. Well I might be (patting myself) if it comes to taking out my wife for dinner or planning trips. But when it comes to doing anything related to household, I am really not good. Kitchen scares me and other housework makes me giddy. Before my marriage I could make myself a good cup of tea. I cannot survive without tea you know! But after my wife came into my life, I stopped that too. Now I feel that she makes really good tea and I am not satisfied when I make it myself. I am ready to share the load! When I watched the above video, I was really touched. The fat...

Instagram Feature Review

Social media has become an integral part of our lives. When I was in college, it was Orkut all the way. Then new platforms started erupting like My Space, Hi Five etc. The engagement of the general public (youth mainly) reached a new level with the arrival of Facebook. And bang, the virtual world became a real part of our lives. Since the advent of Facebook, new social media channels began cropping up everyday. After I became a blogger, I came to understand these things more in detail. First it was mandatory to have a Facebook page. Then a Twitter account. Then Instagram, then Snapchat , Periscope, etc etc. Seems like there is a chance to influence at all levels of social media. Blogmint , the very well known platform for bloggers recently started letting us bloggers monetize our social media handles. So firstly we all bloggers monetized our Twitter account. And then the latest to get monetized is my favourite App, Instagram . As soon as I monetized my account, I got three campaigns ...

Choose the career of your dreams; not your Parents'

Image
Its my passion to cure the sick... Do you plan to follow your parents footsteps? Or are you brave enough to pursue your heart? Well I begged to differ. My parents were academicians. But I chose to become a doctor. If you are thinking of choosing a career for yourself and your parents are pressurizing to follow them, here are five reasons you should not. 1. There is a whole world outside IIT and eminent universities like Delhi Universities. These institutes no longer rule the roost or are the sole place to be. 2. Times have changed. There are thousands of career options now. Paths that were non existent in the eighties have become primary choices now. 3.Forcing children to inherit their parents' education is like using a using a Siemens mobile phone (with big antennae) in the era of smartphones. 4. Its time you should #thinkBIG and guide your children too. Break the shackles of society and let your children breath. 5. Universities like LPU shape up your child's ...

Why should women do all the work?

Image
My school had pretty strict rules when it came to uniforms and stuff. Our nails were checked daily to see whether they are trimmed or not. Our uniforms too were inspected from top to bottom whether the shoes are polished, socks not too small (applicable for girls), shirt and trouser well ironed and no stain was visible. Since I studied in Delhi Public School, my uniform was all white.   It was tough maintaining an all white uniform and that too for a playful boy like me. I had two sets of uniforms and had to get my uniform washed every other day. Cleaning whites required special care and attention. I mean just dumping them into the machine did not guarantee a spotless uniform.   It was a Monday. After the morning assembly, our daily ritual of uniform inspection began. My heart was thumping loudly. My parents were very busy that weekend and the usual scrubbing and bleaching of my uniform could not been done. I was praying silently when my class teacher stop...

Launch of Tia Jewels

Image
Gorgeous Tia jewelry...Pay special attention to the Ruby ring and the polki bracelet What comes to your mind when you think of jewellery? For a man, the word comes with its share of scare. I prefer not openly admiring these intricate pieces of art and craftsmanship in order not to get bankrupt. So though I can stop my wife from buying jewellery, I can't deter her from swooning over them! Last Saturday ie yesterday she got the invite for the launch of Tia Jewels. As expected, she was very excited. As it was in Gurgaon, I could not let her go alone. Also how can I ever escape from the duty of being her photographer? We got quite late as we both got stuck at our hospital. Anyways we left at half past four and finally made it there after two hours. The ambiance was awesome. We were welcomed by Neha, who invited us and Shallu Jain, the talented designer of Tia jewels. We were immediately smitten by all the bling around. We learnt that Tia jewels is about premium dia...
