How to reach to the city center from Airport is always a big question while travelling.
By far car/taxi is the easiest and most convenient form. But it’s costly, if you are travelling solo or as a couple. There is no harm to save few bugs but yes, comfort is always a priority. Public transport in Amsterdam is very convenient, fast and comfortable.
 Shciphol is world’s 14th largest airport situated 22 Km south of Amsterdam city center. It’s well connected to the city center and nearby places by bus train and taxi.
By taxi:
The maximum start price of taxi car is near about 2.83 euro, with travel rate of 2.08 euro per km and travel time cost 0.34 euro per minute. So expect a cost between 45 Euros to 60 Euros from shciphol airport to the city center, depending on your location. You can need taxi especially at late night, when the trams stop functioning. The taxi stand is located just outside of airport arrival hall. One should expect a travel time between 15 minutes to 25 minutes to the city center. You can often check rates of offers online if you are planning well in advance. You can get fixed promotional offer prices in that case.

There are two companies that run in Amsterdam. CONNEXXION and GVB

BUS PASSING NEAR VAN GOGH MUSEUM RIJKSMUSEUM STOP

 Airport express bus 197 is the best and most convenient way to reach Amsterdam city center from the airport. The frequency is every 10 to 15 minutes and it takes time between 25 minutes to 30 minutes to reach the city center. You can get the bus just outside of the arrival all at bus stop B9 and can leave bus at Museumplein, Rijksmuseum, Leidseplein and Elandsgracht bus stop in Amsterdam . All the above bus stops are well connected to each other and the central train station and most of the touristy places by tram. Even most of the places of interest can be reached on foot by fit enthusiastic tourist from the above bus stops. The only drawback that this bus doesn’t go to the Amsterdam Central Station. In fact there is no direct bus connection between airport and central train station.

Online Eticket: €4.75 (single) €9.00 (return)
Single or return ticket can be bought from the bus info desk or directly from the driver, the price is 5€ and 10€ respectively
For children between 4 years to 12 years its 1€
For people having balance in their OV-chip card will cost 3€

THE FINAL BUS STOP OF BUSSTATION ELANDSGRACHT

from the above bus stop there is a good connection of tram network and you can reach The central railway station in just 10 minutes.

N97 Niteliner NIGHT BUS SERVICE runs every one hour between 1:00 am to 5:00 am. Between this time the 197 airport express is not available. The price is 5€ for single and 4.5€ for OV-chip card holders.

GVB BUS SERVICE: Runs bus in and around Amsterdam . Web site (http://en.gvb.nl/ )

GVB bus number 69 runs from Schiphol to Amsterdam Sloterdijk station with frequency of 3 to 4 per hour. travel time 40 minutes. Amsterdam Sloterdijk station is situated to western end of the Amsterdam city and is good if you are planning to go further west.
 you can catch GVB buss number 22 to reach the Amsterdam central station
So to save money you can take GVB 2.9one hour ticket and use bus number 69 to sloterdijk and the immediately take bus 22 to reach Amsterdam central station.



SCHIPHOL HOTEL SHUTTLE:     LINK - SCHIPHOL AIRPORT SHUTTLE 
 This bus run by the connexxion buses connects more than 170 hotels. You can check the availability, price and online booking on the connexxion website. Bus can be found from A7 bay in front of arrivals and the cost is 17€ for single journey and 27€ for return per person. It’s a 8 seater mini bus with free wifi.

BY TRAIN:

The easiest, fastest and most convenient way to reach the Amsterdam central station is by Train situated just in the basement of the Airport.
THE TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE SCHIPHOL PLAZA


The cost of the ticket is 4.20 € on standard ticket and 7.10 € in second class. If you plan to buy a disposable ticket from the ticket counter an additional surcharge of 1 € is taken making your ticket cost 5.2€.
TRAIN TICKET VENDING MACHINE AND WAY TO UNDERGROUND RAILWAY STATION
For children between 4 to 11 years its 2.5 €, service charge is not applicable.
Train is free for children 3 years and below.
The train runs in a frequency of every 10 minutes between 6:00 am (morning) to 1:00 (night)
At night between 1:00am to 6:00 am it runs hourly
