PURANA QUILA.... OLDEST FORT OF DELHI

FEW HIGHLIGHTS OF POORANA QUILA


Ø  It is the oldest fort among all forts in Delhi and,  the oldest known structure of any type in Delhi


Ø  It's located at the site of the legendary city of Indraprastha, that was founded by PANDAV on the banks of perennial river Yamuna,


Ø  It was rebuilt by the Afghan king SHER SHAH SURI,


Ø  The Fort was supposed to be unlucky for rulers who occupied the site; Humayun, Sher Shah Suri, and Hemu all had but relatively brief tenures ensconced there.


Ø  HUMAYUN  died following an accidental fall within the fort complex at Sher Mandal


Ø  HEMU’S rajyabhishek (coronation) as Samrat was held at Purana Qila in Delhi.


Ø  After being killed in battle of panipath, HEMU’S body was placed in a gibbet outside Purana Quila in Delhi to terrorize the native Indians (Turk-Afghans and Hindus) by the mughals (Akbar and Bairam khan)

A day in my life in Bewakoof.com Joggers and T-shirt

Just because I travel so much, most of the people who don't know me feel that my life is easy. But what they don't understand is that in order to arrange money for travelling, I work freaking hard. I can't even take off on Sundays. However I can wear comfortable casuals on weekends thankfully. Recently I came across Bewakoof.com and really liked their wide range of casuals. I chose a cool pair of denim jeans and a cobalt blue T-shirt . The T shirt spoke my mind: Gotta Move On! Usually my Sundays start very early...I know I don't have the privilege to sleep in. I play cricket and am part of the Delhi Medical Association cricket team. Our matches are held every Sunday, at seven in the morning. So this Sunday too I left at six in the morning to play. After my cricket match, I had to take rounds in my hospital. That took around 3 hours and got free at 5 in the evening. But that was not all. The world almost stood still the past two months. While everyone stayed at homes and worked from within, my job didn't permit so. Yes I am a frontline worker (a medical professional) who had to go to the hospital during the entire lockdown time. I was double stressed: Catching the infection myself as well as silently passing on to my two little kids or my elderly parents. I have been seeing and hearing people cursing this quarantined life but they don't understand it's a privilege to be able to stay within the safe confines of home and work and earn. The only respite in this period has been TikTok. Yes, I am now a total TikTok convert.  If there's anything that got a boost during this Corona pandemic, it has to be TikTok.
